When I turn on the TrapKat no start up tones and the top line of the display is black and there is no sound from the pads, I have turned it on approx 24 hours ago and no change.

If I were you, I'd email directly for assistance. Sounds like a serious problem.

Try these things. Open up the back of the trapKAT and push down on the software chip. It's the chip that has handwritten software version on it. Next, look for the tail coming from the display and make sure it is firmly connected to the circuit board.
If its not these things, could mean that the display has received a direct stick hit and needs to be replaced
